125-500 gallon tank = 10 ft minimum
501-2000 gallon tank = 25 ft minimum

Common tanks used are the following approximate sizes:

250 gallon = 7’10” long, 30″ diameter
325 gallon = 9’11” long, 30″ diameter
500 gallon = 9’11” long, 37″ diameter
1000 gallon = 16′ long, 41″ diameter
